Monster Bikes

Oversize motorcycles known as ‘Monster Bikes’ are custom made powerful pieces of coveted machinery. Often they are created with large monster sized V Twin V8 engines or single cylinder motorcycles.

Monster Bikes

Monster Bikes

These bikes demonstrate impressive girth and an often hyper-conspicuous V8 engine. In the beginning, monster bikes often had grand amounts of thermal tape around the manifold and upper exhaust as well as ad hoc heat shields that appeared to be reused from other applications – this gave them a ‘gnarly’ frankenstein-esque ‘monster’ look.

Boss Hoss Motorcycles

A unique inventiveness to motorcycle design has been accomplished by Boss Hoss in their single speed one gear transmission configuration. The right angle drive transmission enables the length of the bike at a minimum and the V8 engine mounting inline with the bike frame made for a balanced design that is unparalleled by other V8 engine motorcycles.

Boss Hoss V8 Motorcycles

Boss Hoss V8 Motorcycles

The Boss Hoss offering has grown from the traditional ‘bike’ motorcycle to also include the three wheeled ‘trike’. The Boss Hoss Trikes have a new three speed transmission that takes advantage of the extra stability and trike rear axle.

The vehicles have enjoyed special added benefits due to the supreme engineering craftsmanship of their predecessors. The bikes now include two speed transmission with reverse, inverted front suspension, vacuum formed body panels, investment cast structural frame components, and many other specially designed components that increase the rigidity and smoothness and minimize the vibration of riding on a Boss Hoss motorcycle.

Boss Hoss Bikes

The latest Boss Hoss models are designed to attract a broader range of motorcycle buyers. The original bikes were more for specialist innovators, and now Boss Hoss bikes are designed more for the layman. No matter what year model you buy though, these magnificent machines will never cease to amaze and will inspire you to become a better motorcyclist.

Boss Hoss V8 Bikes

Boss Hoss V8 Bikes

The engineering design has dictated a longer bike since the original models. Monte Warne, the founder of Boss Hoss Cycles, created his first Chevy V-8 powered motorcycle in his 5000 square foot shop in Dyersburg, TN. His plan was to design a V-8 powered motorcycle that has a traditional cruiser motorcycle style, look and feel. Boss Hoss owners often regard the Nesco transmission as the weakest link in the bike’s design. Since then, more measures have been in place to increase the strength of the transmission by installing hardened planetaries and changing seals.

Over the past seventeen years Boss Hoss has grown from humble beginnings to a 22,000 square foot manufacturing facility.

Their latest models possess the intricacies of high end custom motorcycles, like braided lines, hidden wiring, and a chrome swingarm. The engineering has continued to push the boundaries in reliability, flexibility and power. Boss Hoss provides custom parts that yield their distinctive look and feel such as chrome heat shields for V8 manifolds and custom labeled gauges.

Boss Hoss is the only worldwide approved V8 bikes manufacturer after gaining full vehicle type approval from the European Commission. These supercycles are par excellence. Boss Hoss V8

Boss Hoss Motorcycles are one of our favorite V8 bikes.  This page has a photo gallery of Boss Hoss V8 engine bikes.  Boss Hoss cycles are excellently manufactured and have a traditional cruiser motorcycle look and feel.  Boss Hoss also has V8 Trikes and a number of novel custom styles such as the Corvette style.

Boss Hoss V8

Boss Hoss V8

The Boss Hoss bikes were originally sold in kit form.  But now you can get them both directly from Boss Hoss Inc, or from numerous dealers throughout the United States and in other countries. The dealer can have it painted a custom color and install custom components. Many Boss Hoss riders opt for the stock 1970 Chevrolet 350 engine, Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, and wide 8-gallon gas tank.  Note, there is also a 2-gallon reserve tank under the seat. The Boss Hoss V8 generally gets 24 to 30 miles per gallon.  And there is a specially designed two-speed automatic transmission with Reverse gear. The wide handlebars give lots of leverage for turns, and there is more ground clearance than you might first guess. But this is not a machine for carving corners like a superbike.

These bikes generally start at approximately $30,000.  Not a small price for the faint of heart, but well worth it for the fantastic craftmanship and super charged V8 Engine.  You’ll definitely enjoy the throbbing V8 engine.  And although the V8 can accelerate with the best of them, you should know that the Boss Hoss V8 Motorcycle was made for cruising. The V8 engine bike is so smooth it makes a four-cylinder motorcycle seem like cement mixer. The seat is comfortable, and you can know you’ve got the best wheels in town.

View down to uncover more photographs of these amazing vehicles. You won’t want to miss the engineering prowess of the Boss Hoss Bike:
