Oversize motorcycles known as ‘Monster Bikes’ are custom made powerful pieces of coveted machinery. Often they are created with large monster sized V Twin V8 engines or single cylinder motorcycles.
Monster Bikes
These bikes demonstrate impressive girth and an often hyper-conspicuous V8 engine. In the beginning, monster bikes often had grand amounts of thermal tape around the manifold and upper exhaust as well as ad hoc heat shields that appeared to be reused from other applications – this gave them a ‘gnarly’ frankenstein-esque ‘monster’ look.

Monte, a commercial aircraft pilot and Aviation Airframe and Power plant technician, was the first to design a V-8 powered motorcycle that has a traditional cruiser motorcycle look and feel. He did this with a unique approach single speed (one gear) transmission design. The right angle drive transmission allows the length of the bike to be kept to a minimum and the engine-mounting inline with the frame made for a well-balanced design that is unequaled by any other V-8 powered motorcycles.
Boss Hoss Cycles, Inc. has grown to include three wheeled V8 trikes. Boss Hoss Cycles have features such 2-speed transmission with reverse, inverted front suspension, vacuum formed body panels, investment cast structural frame components, and many other specially designed components. These improve the rigidity and ride.
Drysdale V8 Motorcycle
The Drysdale V8 is an Australian designed and made ‘superbike’ class motorcycle. It was designed to be a road legal motorcycle that performs and handles like a full factory team race bike but with the smoothness that only a V8 can deliver.
The Drysdale V8 has been designed and predominately built by Ian Drysdale – a Melbourne, Australia based motorcycle enthusiast who runs a general engineering business – building specialist one-off machines for the television, car manufacturing and canning industries . He last came to notice in 1990 with an experimental 2 wheel drive – hydraulic drive motorcycle called ‘DRYVTECH’.
Ian Drysdale’s motorcycle designs draw inspiration from the Moto Guzzi V8 500 Grand Prix racer of the 1950′s, as well as the frame and fairing also being influenced by the Bimota and Ducatis of the early 1980′s as well as modern Moto Guzzis. Ian Drysdale also draws influence from the the efficiency and reliability of modern Japanese motorcycles. He aims to combine these elements to build something beautiful, unique and extremely fast.

Their rolling chassis kits allow you to install your own engine and drive train to produce a unique, fast, and admired machine. With the Lightning you get more power than a sportbike and more comfort than a tourer, with the stability of a car.
The Lightning Motorcycle is so powerful it can pull a trailer or boat, can cruise at any speed, and can out-accelerate almost anything on the street. Lightning Motorcycles are a true ‘head turner’.

Or you can buy the custom chopper kit with complete rolling chassis, and then simply add an engine to build it yourself. Their excellence in manufacturing combined with a design commitment to offer the best product possible makes the SuperTrike a cutting edge V-8 powered three wheel touring motorcycle.
Cheetah V8 Chopper SS Motorcycle Trike Bike
Cheetah Trikes are manufactured in Charlestown, Indiana by Tom and Chilita Walters. Safety is one of the reasons they chose the three-wheel design for the “Cheetah Chopper”. The “Cheetah Chopper” is very sporty and stylish, with a commanding look and smooth, effortless power. They only use materials such as marine-grade aluminum and 304 stainless steel to assure sturdiness, durability, and reliability. Cheetah Trikes draws on 35 years of trike building, with safety and stability of ride a primary goal. The brand name is “Cheetah” because it is a sleek and nimble bike.
Cheetah Trikes are available standard with a V8 full automatic and a real reverse. Cheetah’s radiator is located in the rear and expels heat behind the trike. Radiators are located in the front of most motorcycles and trikes, and they expel very hot air back onto the riders. This can be uncomfortable and is often considered a bonus for Cheetah riders.
